Getting to know each other and defining your training goals
Initial consultation
To change a behaviour, we need to understand the motivations and learning experiences behind it. That’s why the initial consultation forms the basis for our work together.
Does your dog…
- …struggle to settle down?
- …bark at other dogs or people?
- …find it hard to be left alone?
- …only have eyes for the hares on your walks?
- …chase after bicycles?
These are just a few examples of the kind of topics this session can cover. Here we focus specifically on your individual challenge.
The goal of the initial consultation
The initial consultation is where I get to know you, your dog, your everyday life, your strengths, your challenges and your questions, and where we jointly define your training goals.
That way I can advise you holistically afterwards and develop an individual training path for you as a human-dog team.
The initial consultation includes
- Preparation time
- Analysis of the human-dog team
- Discussing your challenge(s)
- Jointly defining your training goals
- Recommendations for first training steps
- Follow-up, including a written training plan
