My Romanian mixed-breed dog Suki has lived with me since May 2021 and was my first dog. Back then I thought I was well prepared. But she brought along a lot of fears and insecurities, which overwhelmed me quite a bit at the start. Climbing stairs, driving in the car, contact with other dogs, having visitors over, and many other "normal things" weren't possible with her at first. And that's how it began: my journey into the world of dog training.

In Alisa from Hundeschule Liko I found a fantastic trainer. Alongside that, I started attending seminars myself and continuing my education. That's how Suki and I made progress together and grew into a great team. Today she's a real source of calm, sometimes a bit of a grump, moves through everyday life without any trouble, and enjoys her life.

Working with her, and the sheer depth of dog training in general, was so much fun that in September 2023 I decided to start my training as a dog trainer.

You can find Suki's full story on Instagram.

Nemo

Topics: learned and socially motivated aggression, behavioural disorders, pronounced sensitivity to stimuli

When I did my internship at the "Tiere in Not Odenwald" animal shelter in May 2024, I met my terrier mix Nemo.

Nemo was one of the dogs up for adoption and stole my heart in an instant. With that little whirlwind, though, I also took on a special challenge. I knew he came with various aggressive behaviours, chronic hyperactivity and behavioural disorders. He's a genuine "special-interest project".

Because of him I once again dove deeply into topics like "fidgetiness", aggression and muzzles, and attended numerous further training courses.

But Nemo is also a funny party clown, an affectionate cuddle-dog and a clever sweetheart who tries his absolute best to make sense of a world that's so exciting for him. He's made great progress since he's been with me – I really love the path we're walking together.
