Social dog contact without physical contact
Social walk (on leash)
In these social walks there’s no physical contact between the dogs. Dogs don’t necessarily have to touch each other to interact. That’s why every participating dog stays on the leash for the whole walk.
Your dog will learn
- that other dogs don’t automatically mean play and excitement
- to focus on you despite other dogs being around
- that positive or negative tension around other dogs can turn into relaxation
You as a human will learn
- to recognise and read subtle communication between dogs
- what to do if your dog gets excited around other dogs (positively or negatively)
- how to give your dog security and guidance
- how to keep other dogs away from your dog
Requirements
You’re physically able to stop your dog from approaching other human-dog teams uninvited. Your dog doesn’t intend to harm other dogs* and knows a release cue that’s already actively used in everyday life.
*If you’re unsure, an initial consultation needs to happen first.
Duration approx. 45 – 60 min
Participants 3 – 6 human-dog teams
Price €30 per social walk
